The Incandescent – An internationally touring indie rock band from the Pacific Northwest with members Collin Johnson, Ryan Armstrong, Kellen Rowe, Shane Collins, and Andrew McArdle. In late 2010 The Incandescent started as a collaborative worship project between Armstrong, Rowe and McArdle.  After a short time, while McArdle was sitting at home, he received a call from Rowe who discussed with him the idea of turning the collaborative worship project into a band. It wasn’t long (the next day) before the three initial members were in the studio recording their first single, Great and GloriousAs demand grew for live performances, the group of three decided to hire a bassist. Rowe met Collins two weeks later at a recording session he was helping to engineer for Collins’ former band. Collins joined in mid 2011 as the official bassist and later that year the group was able to pursue music as a full-time career. Most recently, in early 2013, member Collin Johnson was hired as the auxiliary guitarist / key player. The five members are by no means new arrivals to the Christian music scene. Both Armstrong and Rowe (Guitar & Drums) played previously for the Christian jam band Drawing Two. They have shared the stage with great artists such as Storyside B, Needtobreathe, & The Afters. McArdle (Guitar & Vocals) has spent time working for recording artist Holly Starr and has had the opportunity to travel with artists such as Jeremy Camp and Francesca Battistelli. He has also shared the stage with bands such as Sixteen Cities, Telecast, & Remedy Drive.

The Incandescent wrote, recorded and produced their first independent EP called “Planting Bulbs” which released November of 2012 and is available through all online music stores. They are scheduled to be in the studio in early 2014 to record their second independent record.

The Incandescent has spent much of their time traveling and playing various events on the road including conferences, camps and concerts. As of November 2012 they have traveled internationally to play with Sparrow Records’ Starfield. They’ve also provided direct support for Save The City Records’ Holly Starr, as well as for Gotee Records’ Ryan Stevenson on the “Champion Of The World” tour. They have shared the stage with many great artists and groups such as Third Day, Peter Furler (The Newsboys) and Colton Dixon. The Incandescent has also played and headlined at many festivals and events on the West Coast including: Creation WestSpiritFest, SonFest, WorshipFestGrow Conference, and the Moody Bible Institute Fall Conference.

Although they are from different walks of life, each member claims to have been brought together for one purpose; to glorify God through music and to serve people by helping rekindle a passion for Jesus Christ.
